History

In 1995, Radnor Township purchased 15.8 acres known as the Forbes Tract through the Open Space Fund. The site was developed into multipurpose athletic fields for use by various sports programs. In May 1999, the park was named for Radnor Township’s first Director of the Parks & Recreation Department, who served the Township for over 17 years. Dittmar was instrumental in establishing and strengthening the sports programs of Radnor, who continue to make use of the playing fields on this site.

Features & Amenities

Dittmar Park is located off of Valley Forge Road between Maple Road and Church Road. The park has two multipurpose athletic fields, along with a waterless environmentally friendly restroom facility, and water fountain. The site includes a 1/2 mile walking path, which loops around the fields along with a path to nearby Wayne Elementary School. The park is complete with picnic tables and a seating area. Parking is located off of Valley Forge Road.
