West Wayne Avenue Pedestrian Improvement Project, from Conestoga Road to Friends of the Radnor Trail Park: Starting February 7, 2022

Post Date:02/02/2022 1:57 PM

The Radnor Township Board of Commissioners has awarded three pedestrian safety projects in recent months.  The North Wayne Pedestrian Safety Project is complete, and the Township is embarking on construction of the second pedestrian safety project on West Wayne Avenue, starting Monday, February 7, 2022.

This project entails replacing the sidewalk on the east side of West Wayne Avenue with a consistent, four-foot-wide sidewalk beginning at Conestoga Road, adding ADA compliant curb ramps, and crosswalks, all leading to Friends of the Radnor Trail Park.  This portion of sidewalk will allow those following the Radnor TAP Trail to have safe access to Friends of the Radnor Trail park and the Radnor Trail.

Starting on the February 7, crews will perform construction layout, followed immediately by construction. The hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. Please note there will be lane closures during this time; emergency vehicles, buses, trash trucks, and residents will be able to pass through.  Please allow extra travel time, there will be delays.  Also, during construction, the sidewalk on the east side of West Wayne Avenue will be closed.

It is anticipated that the project will be complete by mid-April, understanding that the schedule is very weather dependent.
