Radnor Day Camp has an extensive history and has been a community tradition since 1941. It is the mission of Radnor Day Camp to operate in a highly regarded and reputable manner by providing a safe, exciting, and fun environment for all campers that supports their social, emotional, and physical development. We strive to achieve this mission through annual strategic planning; implementing measurable goals and objectives; routinely soliciting feedback from campers, their families, and our staff; researching industry trends and best practices; creating a camp atmosphere that fosters positive relationships, equitable opportunities, and inclusivity for campers and staff alike.

'Find your Zen' at Radnor Day Camp!

Strategic planning is currently underway to build and incorporate a new 'Find Your Zen Room' at Radnor Day Camp for the summer of 2024.

Find Your Zen at Radnor Day Camp is a concept we developed last summer to incorporate a calming, quiet, and sensory space at camp for our campers. This dedicated area will consist of tools and resources needed to stimulate a calming environment where campers can explore in safe and engaging ways; provide sensory integration through tactile, visual, and auditory experiences such as exposure to textures, sights, and sounds that will offer relief from the busy camp day; and promote self-regulation through alternative activities and equipment designed to provide positive mental-emotional health, mindfulness, and reduced anxiety, hence empowering campers to succeed.  Summer camp can have long, hot days and this space will be available for when campers, particularly for those with increased needs for sensory and quiet time to cool off, calm down, catch their breath, and restore mental balance. This will give them a springboard to jump back into their day set up to be more successful and thereby contributing positively to their overall development.

Portions of this project are contingent to grant funding submitted/portions of this project will be implemented by Radnor Township Parks & Recreation in 2024.
