Moira Mulroney, Esq. is the Commissioner for Ward 5 and President of the Board of Commissioners. She is the Senior Advisor for Strategic Initiatives to a cabinet-level executive at the University of Southern California where she is responsible for project management, policy development, stakeholder engagement, and change management to move systems and processes in areas such as Title IX civil rights, diversity, equity, and inclusion, employee relations, and sexual harassment prevention.

Moira worked previously as a nonprofit executive at regional agencies and institutions, such as the Support Center for Child Advocates, the University of Pennsylvania’s public radio station WXPN, and the Philadelphia Zoo. Prior to that, Moira was an Assistant District Attorney with the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, where she served in the Legislation Unit, drafting legislation and working with state and federal elected officials for the passage of crime laws and advocating for victim’s rights in order to improve the criminal justice system in Pennsylvania. She has a B.A. in English from Boston College and her J.D. from Villanova School of Law.

Moira is a Support Center for Child Advocates volunteer attorney, representing a child client with special needs. She was a member of the William Way LGBT Community Center Board of Directors, and has served on numerous charitable committees.

In 2009, Moira moved to Bryn Mawr with her husband, her stepson (Radnor ’16) and their two rescue dogs. For fun, Moira plays the cello and rides a 1979 BMW motorcycle, when it’s not broken down.
